After much research and seeking of recommendations, I bought a Moby and have never regretted it! I love the fact that baby can be worn so many different ways. Not to mention I feel like a rock star when I wear it because people ask about it or I hear them whispering about it. I’ve worn my Moby at the mall, while cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, and traveling with baby through the airport. It is my go-to baby carrier! I love that it can be placed easily in a bag or suitcase and can be washed in the washing machine. I also love that my baby loves it. 11 months old and still loves to be in it!
Wrapping it on the go does take a bit of planning, but isn’t so complicated or time consuming that it doesn’t make it worth it. (We tried a Bjorn on in the store and it was a nightmare!) As for the lengthy fabric, I just make sure to keep the ends inside the car while tying it. I have friends who prefer their slings and maybe someday I’ll try one too, but I always feel like my baby’s secure in the Moby!
I recently bought 2 of these as baby shower gifts. One of the recipients called us to say how much she loved it and that she used it frequently. (The other hasn’t had hers yet!) Besides the basics (carseat, crib, changing table), this is the single piece of “baby gear” I get the most use out of!
I have noticed how Moby has changed their instruction guide and some of the holds included in the original have been removed. I Googled Moby holds and found an online guide that has several that the newer instruction guide doesn’t include. I’ll be trying baby out in a hike hold when we go on a trip in a couple of months!

Even though my son was a big, strong boy from birth, I felt very nervous about wrapping him up in the Moby before he had good neck control. It comes with a big warning in the instructions that incorrect use can result in death! Not what a sleep-deprived, postpartum mommy needs to worry about. But, the “babywearing” people had me convinced that this was a necessary thing to do in order to ensure that my baby and I would bond, so I tried and tried to get this to work.
I’d get my son into this thing, only to look down and see him with his chin on his chest, and it would freak me out so I’d take him back out and re-wrap the Moby and put him back into it to try to get a better angle/fit. Needless to say, after doing this two or three times, he would not be very happy and I’d usually be in tears.
Once he was a little bit older and had good neck control, he no longer wanted to be wrapped up in the Moby at all, and would scream his head off as soon as I tried to put him into it, no matter how calmly I moved, and no matter how drowsy he was when I attempted it. Since my baby was very mellow and good-tempered, I took this to mean he hated the Moby.
Because it is very stretchy, it has to be worn pretty tight in order to be remotely ergonomically useful for the wearer. Often, his legs would have big red marks after just a few minutes in the Moby. I even had a “professional baby wrapper” come to my house to help me figure this thing out.
Rarely, I would get the perfect wrap and get him into it properly on the first try, and then– I must say– he would fall asleep in it for an hour to 90 minutes– which was like a miracle for our catnapper! However, the Moby is VERY hot and we would both be soaked in sweat at the end of his nap, even if I was topless and he was only wearing a diaper.
The only carrier he ever fell asleep in reliably was the good ol’ Bjorn. He would fall asleep with his head on my chest and sleep for 40-60 minutes. I felt completely confident that the Bjorn was safe, and I could see his head and neck clearly when I looked in the mirror. He could also face outward in it once he had neck control, without sweating profusely. Of course, the Bjorn doesn’t allow 100% “skin to skin” contact, so if you’re bent on that, then I guess try the Moby. I hope that you will have better luck with it than we did.
I’d say we got about 6-8 good uses out of the Moby. I really wanted it to work for us, and it was extremely frustrating and disappointing that it was of such limited value.

I love the moby. I think it looks cool, it is pretty comfy (I’ve had a back injury and it doesn’t put pressure on my low back). It is quite easy to put on, just read the instructions, practice once and you’ll have it down. I’m not sure why anyone would say it is hard to put on.
Why I love the moby:
It is light- doesn’t add weight to wearing your baby.
It is way easier on the back and shoulders than other carriers.
My 2 month old loves it and naps like a champ in it on really fussy days.
It frees one or both hands giving me some freedom to do other things while comforting her.
It is very easy to use.
Spit up doesn’t show on the natural color! And- super easy to wash.
What I don’t like:
It is a bit toasty on warm days.
Overall:
Buy it, you’ll like it.

This is probably the best thing I have bought since my baby was born! She is a little on the fussy side, but the Moby Wrap is like magic and she is almost always asleep within minutes of putting her in it. I still feel like she is getting cuddled and also have my hands free to get things done. It is also so easy to keep clean and can just be thrown in the washer. I am even considering buying a second so that when one is in the laundry I have another to use.

Love it. I was staring at my screaming colicky baby one day, saying, “If I could just wrap tight to me…if I could just WEAR her, I bet it would help.” Then a couple days later…”I should get a looooong piece of fabric and just wrap us up together.” Then a friend bought me a Moby Wrap. If you are a more frugal person, just go get a 20ft long piece of fabric and watch the Moby Wrap website instructions. Tribal women have been working at home or in the fields with their babies this way for thousands of years. It works. It seems hard at first, but if you try it 4 or 5 times to figure out how tight to put it, all the learning and work is worth it. If you stay at home, just put it on the in the morning and then you don’t really need to adjust it again all day. Put it on BEFORE you go to the store or other event so you aren’t exposing it to nasty floor surfaces. This product has saved my arm muscles from going dead having to hold a colicky baby 24/7. After trying it twice, it now takes me only 2 minutes to put it on, get the baby in, and have everything adjusted. Take the time to learn how to use it, and it will pay off for you, I guarantee it.

I’ve never written a review in my life, but this thing is expensive and a HUGE disappointent. Battery life is pathetic, as another reviewer mentioned. I guess it’s meant only for quick trips out of the room. I was hoping to be able to leave the AC adaptor in the bedroom for overnight and be able to use the battery while hanging out in other rooms. Not really possible. Base is narrow so monitor constantly falls over. The adaptor connection broke after some minor jostling caused by the aforementioned narrow base, but I’m glad because now I can buy something else. There seem to be a lot of “features” with this monitor, but it’s not very user friendly.

Here’s the deal… Battery life is really bad. I’m talking maybe 3-5 hrs. I went to batteries plus ([...]) and had them build a new AAA cell pack replacement with stronger batteries (1000mAh vs 850) and that maybe gave us an extra 30-1hr. Also the blue light on the front of the video monitor is a bit too bright, but it does not wake our son… yet.. (4 weeks old) Other than that the unit is great. We just wish that it would make it thru the night as it will make a SUPER loud beeping noises and WAKE you when the batteries are low.. So if you don’t mind leaving the handheld unit on the charger all night “every night” and ONLY unplugging it for 3-4 hours, then this is your unit. I emailed Safety 1st to get some info about the battery life and they have not responed.. It’s been almost 1 week, so this shows me what kind of Customer Support I’m going to be looking at if the unit ever needs fixing… (bad) Just one other thing to save you some time, I haven’t seen another unit that DOES NOT have issues with battery life……
Why can’t we get a digital VIDEO monitor that isn’t $300+ and can last 12+ hours?
Pros:
Easy, Easy, Easy
Alarm Clock, Time/Date, Easy Temp read out
Belt clip
Cons:
Slight Blue Light on Cam when using at night
Batery – 3-4hrs on standard battery (Battery Plus Upgrade needed)

This is our second attempt at a video baby monitor. The first (Mobicam) was returned because of unceasing static and interference in the audio.
MAJOR PROBLEM: Parent unit dies without warning. It randomly goes completely unresponsive (no power, video or audio). Judging from other user reviews, this is not an isolated issue. There seems to be a major electronic design flaw.
Otherwise…
Pros:
- decent video quality (quite pixellated, but clear, no interference)
- one-touch video on/off with power-saving timer
- good sound quality (clear, no static)
Cons:
- battery life: I think ours is defective; it has less than an hour of charge and the charge indicator is always empty
- audio is not particularly sensitive (compared to standard audio-only units)
- poor craftsmanship (power button gets stuck, other buttons feel flimsy)
- clock feature would be nice if it didn’t reset every time the battery dies (which is often)
- display bar takes up too much of the screen
- no voice-activated video setting (the screen does not turn on when baby cries)
- power indicator light is too bright (on both parent & camera units)
Conclusion: Not recommended
Suggestions to manufacturers: Look to cell phone and other portable electronic technology (more reliable, better screens, lithium-ion batteries, clear audio, smaller packages).

My parent unit of the safety first prism monitor just went dead. Completely unresponsive. I’ve changed the batteries, plugged it in, tried pushing buttons and finally went through the instruction sheet and it will NOT power up. I’ve heard this many times about this monitor and other handhelds by safety first. Now I have my own personal experience to add to the reviews. We’ve owned this thing for about 3 mths. How disappointing and it wasn’t cheap either.
So now I’m back to constantly peeking in on my baby while I try to do chores. I should have saved my money and kept doing that anyway. We do have the safety first air something or other car seat. I can only hope that if we ever need it to perform that it won’t do the same as the monitor and just stop performing at the last minute.
I wouldn’t buy this product to replace my current useless one and I would suggest that no one else buys it either.
My summer monitor that is used for our older child is way better than this even though it’s not really portable.

The primary function of this device is to transmit video to a remote monitor and it does a satisfactory job of that. Its range is 200′ at most but I live in New York City where the amount of interference is very high so I’ll settle for that. Everything else about this device is shoddy and its design suggests that very little thought was put into it. Here’s a list of what I think are significant flaws.
TRANSMITTER DESIGN: It’s very light for its bulky size. There should be a clamp and a swan/flexible neck so the camera can be mounted on something like a crib and pointed in any direction you want. As it is, it has to sit on a flat surface – in my case that’s a table or the rail of the crib. For the latter the unit needs to be balanced ever so perfectly because even the very skinny power cord is enough to pull the unit over on account of it’s light weight and smooth underside.
RECEIVER DESIGN: The same problems I just mentioned also apply to the receiver. It seems very light for its size. The base is narrower than the rest of the unit and is also smooth, hard plastic. Keeping it upright and pointed in the right direction is difficult unless you wedge it between other objects. Again the power cord, flimsy as it is, is enough to spin this thing right around with even the slightest jostle. A wide set of three legs with rubber stoppers would do wonders for this device. Also, the buttons are cheap and too small for someone with larger hands.
VOLUME: Most audio devices have a scale from one to ten, this device’s scale looks more like this: 0, 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10. Which is to say it’s either silent, loud or louder. Yes, I want it loud when I’m asleep so that it wakes me up but if I’m reading or doing some other quiet activity I don’t need every creak or slight noise echoing through my apartment. Which brings me to my next complaint:
AUDIO DELAY: The reviewer that likened it to poltergeist got it perfectly. The offset causes everything that’s picked up by the transmitter to have it’s own echo. Sometimes a sound can be heard live, then the echo is heard, then the monitor picks up the echo and “re-echos” it. I feel like I’m in the Swiss Alps.
BATTERY LIFE: It’s much shorter than I expected. It seems like they went overboard in cutting manufacturing costs.
Anyway, I hope there are better devices out there. In the meantime this one will to the job, barely.

This review is for the diaper bag and for Amazon’s customer service. They both get 5 stars. I had an initial problem where I did not receive the bag but some warehouse garbage(literally#. The box was demolished and looked like it was re-taped. I contacted Amazon customer service and they promptly overnighted me a replacement and emailed me a return label for the first shipment. The only inconvenience was that I had to take it to a UPS store to ship it back. Which is not a big deal considering their cooperation.
Now on to the bag. It is awesome. The bag layout is great and easy to get things in and out. It even comes with instructions on what each section was designed for. This bag is very comfortable and is much better than any bag that we had for our first daughter#I believe we went through 3 trying to find a good one). I wish that I would have known about these bags back then.

I am a new dad and needed a manly bag. Done deal. Masculine enough, big enough, and very well made. Plenty of compartments and is very comfortable to wear.
Would/will transition nicely into a laptop bag when the day comes.

Nice baby bag for a guy – I like the reminder tips it gives them on the inside flap (last one says to not forget the baby which is pretty funny).
Overall very versatile and will be great to carry the baby stuff.

I love this bag. Not only is there space for everything baby related, it also transitions nicely into the bag I take with me to school. There’s room for text books, laptop, and hey . . . it looks cool.
I love it.

This is a great bag! We used to use an open top bag that can be carried only using the handle, it was bulging with my little daughter’s stuff. When we got the diaper dude bag and moved all the things to it, I thought something must be wrong because it felt really empty even with everything in it.
This bag has multiple pockets, some velcro’d, some zippered, and some open and there’s the zippered roomy central area under the main flap with mesh pockets all around it.
This bag comes with a changing pad that can be folded into a small square and stroller straps to hang the bag on your stroller.
I liked how the bag was carried messenger style and the mobile phone pocket fit my Nokia N95 8GB without any problems. My wife was taking items from the front pockets while I was carrying the bag.
After using this bag, I think it can be used even by dudes without babies because all the pockets can be used for other things. And it looks great!
Note: When I ordered my bag through amazon it came with the changing pad but no stroller straps. I contacted the nice people at diaper dude and they immediately sent me one. So make sure you check yours when it arrives!

Even though I can only put two 8oz and one 4oz Dr. Brown bottles + ice pack, it is really good enough for me. It’s compact so I can put it in my shoulder bag and not feel troublesome to carry it around.

Doesn’t leak, snapping handle is handy and includes an ice pack. Holds 2 or 3 bottles conviently and keeps them cold without leaking. Not much more to say, simple product that does what it’s expected.

This is a great product. It is very durable and keeps about 3-4 bottles cool when we go out. It is like bringing the refrigerator with you. Highly recommended to have in your travel kit!

It comes with an ice pack but i found that the Medela 4 bottle ice pack works better -OR- i really like the icy-cools reusable ice mat. With the ice mat, you can cut them in between the sealed squares to fit your cooler perfectly. Then you have cold around both sides and not just on the bottom, like with the ice pack it comes with.
Its a good design and clips to almost anything. Its good not just for bottles, but as an upright lunchbox.

This review is for the Skip-Hop Pronto and is from daddy’s perspective. This was my bag of choice when taking my baby daughter to day trips to the museum, beach, friends, Grandma’s, etc. I really liked the bag and used it for over a year as my daughter was still just wee. Below are the main points I can speak to from my experience:
Pros
* Size – This size was just perfect for day trips. It held a travel-size package of wipes, a few infant diapers (or a couple of bigger ones), and a couple of tubes of hand sanitizer, bottom balm, etc. I loved the fact that it all condensed down into a small sized satchel that could be tossed under the compact stroller or hung on the handle without taking up a lot of space or getting in the way. I always kept a larger, fully stocked diaper bag in the mother-ship (car) where room and space weren’t as much an issue. I thought the size of this was perfect for on-the-go short adventures.
* Function – I really liked the fold out pad. Though my daughter didn’t really care about its aesthetics, I liked the pattern on the changing pad. Its surface was smooth which made it really easy to clean. Most importantly, it had nice padding that kept my daughter comfy while I went about the diaper business. The padding wasn’t very thick, but it seemed to be effective against hard surfaces. Also, I liked the size of the changing pad – I found that there was plenty of room for baby. The case had plenty of areas for storage for its size.
* Quality – Mine held up very well with frequent use over time. I saw other reviews that indicated quality problems and that’s too bad. I bought mine in Fall of 2007, so perhaps the company changed manufacturers or materials that led to some shoddiness.
Cons
* Price – I chose this over other, similar on-the-go diaper bags because I thought it had better styling and I thought the set-up was a little more functional. That being said, it was pricier than most others – sometimes significantly. It could probably be cheaper.
* Size – I’m not sure this is a con, but some people would probably find that it’s just too small. The opening for the wipes is a tight fit. I never had a problem with it and never considered it a problem. Some have noted that you can fit fewer larger diapers vs. infant-sized diapers. Well, yeah. Just like you get fewer #4 diapers vs. newborn diapers in a package of the same size. I don’t see this as a negative, as by the time my daughter was wearing #4 size diapers she was also going less frequently and more predictably than when she was in the infant size. One of the things I liked about this changing bag was that it was small; if I wanted something that would carry the same number of large-size diapers, I would just have lugged around my backpack-style diaper bag. Which is the point: This is a very compact bag, suitable – in my experience – for outings that lasted hours, not days.
Final Thoughts
I should also mention that I found the small plastic wipes case that came with the bag to be useless and just tossed it; travel-sized wipes packages are the perfect size for this bag and are usually resealable. Also, getting rid of the hard plastic case saves space and adds flexibility to the bag, in my opinion. Others may feel differently, but I didn’t think the plastic case added any value.
In the end, I used this bag more than any other and really liked it, and can recommend it based on that experience. It is specialized, though, and not something that you’d take on an extended trip. For this daddy it was perfect, but that may not be true of others. I would rate the product five stars based on style, functionality, and size, but feel compelled to knock off a star for price. Saving ten bucks here or there can buy a lot of wipes, you know?

These change wallets are one of our favorite baby items: with space for diapers, wipes, a spare clothing item plus an in-built change pad and a handy wrist-grip, this wallet comes with us everywhere. It’s perfect too for travelling – e.g., just pop into the restroom/changing room with this on your wrist and you can get set up one-handed. We get them for everyone as a baby gift. Just one note on the “Uptown Stripe” print – the edges are brown (I’d thought they were black).

We are extremely pleased with this product.
We have little space and were not excited about getting a traditional changing table/pad only to get rid of it in 2 years. So we use the Skip-Hop Pronto on the floor for changing diapers at home. Since we have hardwood floors, we have placed a folded-over towel under the Pronto to provide a little padding and thermal insulation. Since baby is on the floor, we never have to worry about her squirming and falling. The changing surface is nice and large — other parents have commented jealously on this changer’s generous surface area.
When we go out, we just fold up this changer and toss it in my (large) purse. We have never used the plastic wipes holder; when we are on the go, we just stash a ‘refill’ pouch pf wipes in the appropriately sized pocket.
I have used the folded Pronto to support my baby while breastfeeding on-the-go.
After 8 weeks, we have not noticed any defects in workmanship, such as unraveling seams mentioned by others.

I have a twenty-one month old daughter who does not really need the huge amount of stuff that necessitates a giant diaper bag, but we are not quite ready for potty training so we still need to take diapers along when we go places. This carrier is AWESOME! It holds four size four diapers, a tube of diaper rash cream, a travel-size package of wipes and is still small enough to fit into a moderately sized purse! I love it! Another excellent SkipHop product!
